AR companion easing children into a hospital visit.
Children arriving at Surrey Memorial Hospital’s Children’s Health Centre scan acorn-shaped markers to meet Chip, an animated squirrel who explains what happens next through playful moments.
I developed the app in Unity with AR Foundation, working directly with the Surrey Hospitals Foundation and alongside artists and designers. I designed the image-tracking architecture that triggers each of Chip’s animations and audio, shaped much of the user experience, and shipped the app to the App Store and Google Play.
